Breaking Through

I saw an opening

Of glitter in the sky

A small, round circle

And I wondered if I

Could break through

To see

What stardom

Feels like

To break through

And see

If I could free my

Fear of what is unknown

My fear of being full grown

My fear of reaching through this

Soaring to the abyss

I’m afraid of what I can’t see

Afraid someone will find me

Afraid of trying too hard

Afraid of being from Mars

I question my own sanity

I question what life means to me

I know my motives are true

So why does it feel

So blue

I think that I can do it

Just have to go

Straight through it

Break through fear

Insecurity

Find out what

Freedom means to me

The first step

Is actually to rest

I can’t give

What I don’t have

Peace is all

I want to last

I meditate

Self-validate

I pray

I cry

I sing

I know there’s something

Rising

From above

Deep within

Surprising
